Mobile Experience: Are People Viewing Our Website from their Phones?

A guide to navigating Google Analytics Data related to Device Usage

If you would like to see how many people are accessing your website from a mobile device, you're in luck! You can easily access this information from your Google Analytics panel. First, go to your Google Analytics account. Once you're logged in, click on your web name to view your analytics overview. From the overview screen, click on ""Mobile"" on the left hand navigation.

Once the mobile overview screen has loaded, you can see a breakdown of all your visitors from the past month. This will give you a percentage of who is using desktops, mobile phones or tablets (such as iPads).

A customized experience
We also notice that mobile users have a high bounce rate (they leave the site without taking action) on sites that are not responsive. When people have to pinch and scroll around to see a desktop site on their phones, it's frustrating. Wouldn't it be better to have all the information in one place, so it's easy to read and navigate? This is where the power of responsive design comes into play.

Someone browsing the web from their phone will often have a different agenda from someone sitting on their home office computer. Mobile users are on their phones for convenience. They want to jump on the site, find what they need and leave. This is often as simple as an address or phone number. We can tailor that mobile web experience by changing the type of information that is shown for mobile devices, as well as how it is displayed.

Improve your customers' mobile experience to maximize your return on investment from your website. At Inclind, we have the experience necessary to craft beautiful responsive sites that accomplish your goal. Take a look at Star Roses or Delaware Electric Cooperative for examples. Feel free to reach out to us. We'd be happy to discuss your site.
