Working with a local organization that provides help to homeless individuals to help expand their presence
Sussex County Crisis Housing Services, Inc. (SCCHS) helps homeless individuals and families in lower Delaware find shelter and promotes housing stability and financial security. It has an administrative staff of four working hard to serve this community but their website wasn’t serving them. Built on a much older technology in the infancy of content management systems, it was cumbersome to manage and content was beginning to get noticeably outdated. It was time for an upgrade.
Many small nonprofits face challenges of limited budgets and staff to manage all of the administrative operations while staying focused on their mission. And, while a website is a critical tool for these organizations to engage with stakeholders, potential and current donors and the people they serve, it should be easy-to-manage so that important updates could be made quickly and the staff can spend more time on work that supports the mission.
A simple WordPress solution was the answer to provide SCCHS staff an easy way to manage content, create photo galleries and add in capabilities like blogging and events listings down the road. The Inclind team went to work to install and style the theme and migrate content over to the new site. A very simple theme was selected that is easy to edit and clearly communicates information for volunteers, supporters and people that may need assistance.
The project turnaround was one month, with weekly progress reviews. The website, launched this week, is fully responsive and fast-loading for a simple, optimized and effective user experience on all devices.
Every Inclind project, big or small, gets the team approach and goes through the process of discovery, design and development, optimization and support — all important steps in project success.
